Background Information

After many years as a race car mechanic, Jason decided to advance his career by completing a mechanical engineering degree. What started as a few night classes at Orange Coast Community College has turned into full fledged graduate research at UCLA. During undergraduate study, he was attracted to the automotive research being done in the MaC Lab. However, this initial attraction has transformed into his current research interest which is medical robotics. His research is a collaboration with the MAE department and the Jules Stein Eye Institute (JSEI) developing a robot for intraocular microsurgery. .

Current Research
